New research from SuomiCasino has analysed the Google Search Volume data across the 30 largest cities in the UK by population for keywords associated with April Fool’s Day pranks, such as “April Fool’s Day”, “Pranks”, “April Fool’s Day pranks” and “Best April Fool’s Day pranks”, during the month leading up to April Fool’s Day last year - revealing which cities in the UK should be on the lookout this year for potential pranksters.
The following table ranks the 30 largest cities in the UK based on their average Google Search Volume per 10,000 residents for April Fool’s Day prank related terms during the month of March 2024:

Manchester takes the top spot as home to the UK’s Biggest Pranksters with 24.45 searches per 10,000 residents for April Fool’s Day prank related terms, followed by Bristol in second place (23.05) and Newcastle upon Tyne in third (23.04).
At the other end of the table, Derby residents rank as the least likely to play an April Fool’s Day prank with just 3.63 searches per 10,000 residents, followed by Nottingham and Cardiff with 3.67 and 4.72 searches per 10,000 residents, respectively. This research analysed the Google search volume for various keywords associated with April Fool's and pranks across the UK's 30 largest cities during the month of March 2024 to reveal which cities in the UK are home to the biggest pranksters.
