John Taylor Hospice is asking fundraisers to host their own Big Brummie Bake sale on Friday 3 April and raise money for people living with a terminal illness.

The hospice is encouraging people to get together with friends, family or colleagues and hold a bake sale or coffee morning – with every penny raised helping to provide end of life care for people across the West Midlands.

“Hosting a bake sale is a perfect excuse to eat cake and catch up with friends while raising money for a great cause,” said Emily Boate, community and events fundraising manager at John Taylor Hospice. “Last year, Big Brummie Bake sales in Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield raised over £4,000 which is an amazing amount.

“As a charity, our hospice relies heavily on donations and fundraising to be able to provide care for hundreds of people each day. So, by rising to the challenge and serving up your own bake sale, you’ll be raising vital funds and helping to ensure that hospice care and support is always there for local families when they need it.”

Every day more than 600 people living with a terminal illness and their families will receive the care and support they need from John Taylor Hospice teams – both at the hospice in Birmingham and in their own homes.

“We’ve made it easy for everyone to get involved and host their own Big Brummie Bake. We have kits jam-packed full of event inspiration, invitations, posters, bunting and even a baking-themed bingo game to keep guests entertained. Our hospice Fundraising Team is on hand to help every step of the way and we can’t wait to hear your plans!”
