Santa Claus made a flying visit to Birmingham as he brought an outburst of festive spirits to Soho Road, in Handsworth.

Decked out in his traditional red garbs – with a slick Caribbean flavour - this children’s (and adult’s) favourite’s yuletide visitor stopped off at the city’s JN Money Transfer, to spread much love and affection to the customers and passers-by. With him being well-looked after by the ever-pleasant staff, at this branch of the international financial institution, Father Christmas, a.k.a. Rupert Phillips, was all smiles, as he greeted young and old to some quenching sorrel Jamaican drink and mouth-wateringly rich rum cake.

Taking a minute of his time away, during his time in the city, Santa, brimming with a broad smile, said: “For the past two years I’ve been happily gracing this JN Money Transfer branch, to bring smiles and cheers to everyone’s faces, and get them into the right mood, as they send, and receive, monies, to and from their loved ones ‘back home’.

“I just do it for the fun of it, and all the staff and customers love what I’m doing.” One JN Money customer, Judith Palmer, and son, Zion White (both in pic), were equally all-smiles, as she, was able to complete her swift over-the-counter service, and he was able to meet Father Christmas ‘up-close-and-personal’ during their visit.

As this slicker-than-slick Father Christmas was preparing to to make his way onto the roof, and his ‘souped-up’ reindeer, he left with a message of: “To all The Phoenix Newspaper readers, staff, and all connected with it, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”

And to you too, Santa!
