Two more parks in Haringey (Woodside and Tottenham Green) have been awarded Green Flag status by Keep Britain Tidy. Green Flag status means the parks have the highest standards in the country and are judged to be welcoming, safe and well managed with active community involvement. Haringey now has 22 council -maintained Green Flag parks, an increase of six in three years and the fourth highest in London.

Haringey Council Cabinet Member for Environment Cllr Peray Ahmet said: "Haringey's parks are some of the best in London with brilliant green spaces in all corners of our borough. These Green Flag awards are special because of the brilliant work of residents, Friends of Parks groups and council staff who work around the clock."

Michael Cordwell-James, from Friends of Woodside Park, said: “For many years we have worked to improve the quality of our local open space and it is wonderful that this has now been recognised. Woodside is a popular and much loved park, and we are all delighted with this outcome!”

Matthew Creber from Friends of Tottenham Green, said: "The Friends of Tottenham Green are delighted by this result, which reflects the care and hard work which has been put into the Green by volunteers and Haringey Council. We would like to thank all those who have given their time towards improving the park, and hope that this sets a high standard for the future."
